I recently went to an old friend of mine's wedding and it was so gorgeous. It was themed ivory and yellow, and she had some gorgeous arrangements for centerpieces. Located at the serenely beautiful Coyote Hills Golf Course, with the waterfall in the background and the beautiful summer afternoon sun. Below is a pic of the smaller of the two arrangements (it was a two vase centerpiece, one tall and one short, both done in the similar style.

For the cake-cutting section of the reception, a dessert bar was available for guests (pictured above), included mini desserts: macarons, macaron cake pops, tiramisu shooters, pineapple mousse shooters, vanilla pudding jars, mini cupcakes and the like. I ate them all of course, and they were all super deliciously sweet, just like the happy couple! When I got home and looked through my "swag box" of goodies which included the centerpieces and extra desserts, along with some pictures from the photobooth with the bride & groom, party favors with a delicious almond ferrero rocher (which of course is wrapped in their signature gold paper, and just so happen to match with the wedding's theme). I just so happened to take the vanilla pudding jar home with me for some reason, probably thinking that a jar like that is a waste if not re-purposed for some other reason. I thought it would make a cute vase for some sprigs of flowers, except I didn't have any other flowers other than those from the centerpieces. So I broke up one of the centerpieces and made the below pictured.
This little pop of color, as subtle as it is, really does enhance even the smallest and plainest of spaces. If I had more of those vanilla jars, which I should have taken more because they were so delicious, I would put these little guys by my bedside, or along a shelf.. or clustered together or spaced apart in a linear fashion along a coffee table or dining table for a dramatic, yet understated shabby chic look. :)
